Players Begin Arriving at the Rexall Centre

August 9, 2007 - World No. 1 Justine Henin and defending Rogers Cup champion Ana Ivanovic headline an impressive field ready to hit the courts at Rexall Centre for the 2007 Rogers Cup presented by American Express.

Stars from the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour began arriving in Toronto on Thursday and several of them have been spotted warming up at the Rexall Centre in preparation for the tournament beginning next week.  Among those to hit the courts today was recent Wimbledon runner-up Marion Bartoli of France, who is currently ranked No. 11 in the world, and Swiss veteran Patty Schnyder, who reached the finals of the San Diego Tier I event two weeks ago.

A lot of action is still to come at the Rogers Cup presented by American Express. The remaining players are scheduled to arrive in the next couple of days and play begins on Saturday morning with the qualifying draw, where 48 women will be vying for one of 12 spots in the main draw. The official draw takes place on Saturday while main draw action gets underway Monday.
