Justine Wins First Title in 2005 Playing in her first final this season, former world No.1 Justine Henin-Hardenne returned to form Sunday defeating No.2 seed Elena Dementieva 7-5 6-4 at the Family Circle Cup in Charleston, SC. The injury-plagued Henin-Hardenne, hadn't won a title since her Olympic gold medal in Athens last summer. In January she withdrew from both Sydney and the Australian Open due to a right knee fracture suffered during practice session on late December. But Henin-Hardenne is clearly on the mend and the Family Circle Cup seems to bring out the best in her. Since she won her first title in Charleston in 2003, Henin-Hardenne has an 11-0 record at the event. With the win she takes a major leap in the rankings--she is projected to move from No. 43 to No.22 on Monday's new Sony Ericsson WTA Rankings. This week the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour players will compete in Fed Cup Matches. The stars of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour will debut at the world class Rexall Centre in Toronto as part of the Rogers Cup August 13?21st.
