And we’re underway! The first day of main draw action at Rogers Cup presented by National Bank saw lots of players, like John Isner, Grigor Dimitrov, Kevin Anderson, and Jack Sock move on to round two.

Oh and also advancing: THREE CANADIANS lead by 17-year-old Denis Shapovalov scoring a gigantic upset over world No. 19 Nick Kyrgios. Centre Court was ELECTRIC.

And he celebrated with his good buddies Felix and Ben! The future of Canadian tennis is looking pretty darn good right there.

Also moving on were Steven Diez and Peter Polansky, who secured big wins of their own.

In other news, Grigor Dimitrov went 2-0 on the day, winning singles then teaming with Stan Wawrinka for the doubles victory. The two stars showed their excitement after their comeback triumph, 12-10 in the match tiebreaker.

They were spied taking a selfie after their big win … which Stan then shared on his Snapchat.

The day began with an all-Croatian battle of young gun Coris versus Dodig.

Yes, that is Sir Richard Branson playing tennis with none other than Milos Raonic. We have lots of photo evidence!

Plenty of fans had the chance to get closer to Milos today, signing autographs after practice …

And also popping by the Mazda VIP Lounge for a Q&A.

Don’t miss the first of our Mazda Drives with US Open champion Marin Cilic. He’s been in town for a week already!

Kevin Anderson was happy to get through his opponent, and the heat.

All and in, it was another great day for fans and a fantastic way to kick off the tournament!
