And we’re down to eight. The end is near at Rogers Cup presented by National Bank after the field was narrowed further on Thursday following third-round play. Here’s just a hint of what went down:

LET’S GO CANADA. Milos Raonic has booked his spot in the quarter-finals! He was dominant against the teenaged qualifier Jared Donaldson.

Raonic was happy with his effort afterwards, and praised Canadian tennis.

A gorgeous night, indeed, as the night capped off with a win for Novak Djokovic

Nole advances to the quarter-finals in Toronto once again! He and pal Stepanek shared a nice moment at the net.

He may have lost, but 37-year-old Stepanek definitely had his moments  … how about this shot!?

Cirque du Soleil dazzled the crowd once again.

Centre Court had a little visitor in the evening. Watch out birdie, tennis balls are a-flying!

Who warmed up the world No. 1? Canada’s own Brayden Schnur, who just turned pro last week.

Raonic’s next opponent is the flashy, fan favourite Gael Monfils. Fans rushed courtside for the chance to grab an autograph from him as he dispatched David Goffin.

Fresh off their Cirque du Soleil visit, Bob and Mike Bryan got their 2016 Canadian campaign underway. Following a straightforward win, the twins had a little fun. Don’t break the glass, Bob and Mike!

Grigor Dimitrov, who hasn’t enjoyed the best of seasons, is finding his form in Toronto. He made the semifinals here two years ago and is summoning the same magic as he ousted the six-foot-11 Ivo Karlovic.

And the evening all ended with Daniel Nestor and Vasek Pospisil moving on in doubles! No way Daniel, your sixth Olympic Games is an incredible accomplishment!
