The comedian will help welcome the best players in the world to Montreal
Montreal, June 8, 2011 - Eugène Lapierre, Tournament Director of the Rogers Cup presented by National Bank, is pleased to announce that Geneviève Brouillette will be the official spokesperson for the 2011 ediRtion of the tournament which will be held from August 5-14 at Uniprix Stadium in Montreal.
A well-known actress and comedian popular with the Quebec audience, Geneviève Brouillette is adding another feather to her cap having eagerly accepted the role of spokesperson. "I have wanted to be Rogers Cup spokesperson for a long time and now it's official, I am going to be hooked on men's tennis! " said Brouillette. "What fascinates me most about tennis is the psychological battle between the two players; I love analyzing their mental strength, it's very similar to the game I play as comedian!"
In keeping with the social media craze that has hit the world of tennis, Brouillette encourages Rogers Cup fans to follow her on Twitter (@GenBrouillette) where she will share exclusive news related to the players and the other Quebec celebrities who will be involved in the tournament. In addiiton, the newly formed Rogers Cup presented by National Bank 2.0 Squad amplified by Rogers will cover the tournament from all angles for fans via social media.
This year will be special because the men's and women's events will be played at the same time. Brouillette is looking forward to an intense week of tennis and is already brushing up on her knowledge of the top players.
