Fabrice Santoro of France, currently ranked No. 44 in the INDESIT ATP rankings, took a break from his tournament preparations to sign some autographs for fans attending the first day of the Rogers Cup presented by American Express. Enthusiastic fans flocked to the main stage and lined up early for their chance to get an autograph and their picture taken with the ATP star. The kids were especially excited about their chance to meet a famous tennis player. “I love the players,” exclaimed 11-year old Norbert Kapa when asked why he wanted Santoro’s autograph. “I just love tennis!” Qualifying action is currently underway as 32 men vie for one of eight spots in the main draw of the Rogers Cup presented by American Express. The official player draw is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. today with main draw action beginning Monday, August 7. Celebrating its 125th anniversary, the tournament is the third-oldest tennis event behind only Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.
