Last week, we shared the story of Matt Mueller, a 13-year-old passionate about tennis and dedicated to repairing the only two courts in his small town of Petrolia, Ont.

Matt had started a fundraising campaign to cover the costs of resurfacing the courts, and he has since reached his goal. More donations came in over the last week, including from Canada’s top-ranked tennis player.

After hearing about Matt and his story, Milos Raonic and his father Dusan contacted the town and offered to cover the remaining costs to complete the project.

Matt’s mother Krista reports that any additional money raised will go towards organizing a tennis tournament and potentially building new courts.

Anyone interested in supporting Matt and his goal of growing tennis in his community, please contact the town of Petrolia. We will check back in with Matt when the resurfacing of the courts is completed!
