For the second time in as many weeks and third time this year, Vasek Pospisil will face Gilles Simon of France in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California.
Pospisil advanced to round two of the ATP Masters 1000 event thanks to a 7-6(5), 6-7(2), 6-3 victory over young American Jared Donaldson.
Simon has won two of the three meetings against Pospisil, including both this year, at the Australian Open in January and at Davis Cup last week.
In doubles, the first time pairing of big servers Milos Raonic and John Isner defeated Brits Colin Fleming and Andy Murray 7-5, 6-7(5), 10-8 in front of a packed Stadium 2.
