Milos Raonic began his title quest at the Miami Open with a win on Saturday to move into the third round of the ATP Masters 1000 event in Key Biscayne.
The world no. 12 defeated American Denis Kudla 7-6(4), 6-4 in the opening match on Court 1. In victory, Raonic hit 13 aces and saved all six break points he faced. This was his first match since falling in the Indian Wells final to World No. 1 Novak Djokovic last Sunday.
In the third round on Monday, Raonic will face the winner of the encounter between American Jack Sock and Sergiy Stakhovsky of Ukraine.
On Friday, Vasek Pospisil lost his second round match 6-7, 7-6, 6-2 to Joao Sousa of Portugal.
