Daniel Nestor

“This is our first tournament together and it’s going really well,” said Nestor after the match. “Édouard is a good guy and he’s easy to spend time with. He’s the one who asked me to team up with him when Julien Benneteau went out with an injury. And on the court, he knows how to win.”

Jérémy Chardy

“Yeah, it was a crazy match. We had the chance, both of us. Yeah, the match was really crazy. We did a lot of good points. We were serving both really well. “So, I mean, if we see the statistics, I think we were really close the whole match. He can win this match like me, so I’m happy I won it.”

Kei Nishikori

“It took a long time (7 straight losses to Nadal). I didn’t really like to play against him. But these last couple of matches, I have had chances, especially Australia and Madrid. I lost last year, but I was close. Today I was almost dominating everything, so I am very happy with the way I’m playing.”

Novak Djokovic

“I actually enjoyed very much competing. I Enjoyed the match for some reason. Not many times do I experience that feeling. Obviously you’re in your zone and focused. Tonight I was really enjoying being out there. The crowd was into it. They supported me, so I want to thank them really for that support. It got me out of trouble. Ernests was a better player for two sets. Unfortunately, he missed two match points. I wasn’t very happy with my game. But, again, at the end of the day, you have to muscle it out sometimes and I had to put in the effort.”
