Tennis has a large and growing participant base

     • More than 4 million occasional players
     • More than 1.6 million frequent players
     • Six per cent (6%) annual growth since 2002

Tennis participation includes all ages:

     • Twenty-three per cent (23%) are between the ages of 12-17.
     • Twenty-three per cent (23%) are between the ages of 18-24.
     • Adults (25+) comprise 54% of total frequent participation in tennis.

The tennis audience is upwardly mobile:

     • aged 25-44 years old
     • university educated
     • adults with children
     • >$75,000 Household Income

The size of the tennis enthusiast market (play/watch or attend) is similar in size to the
football, golf, basketball, soccer, downhill skiing and baseball enthusiast:


     • 17% of the total 12+ population
     • More than 1,000 accredited national and international media members
