The 24-year-old Canadian was defeated 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 by the Frenchman in the final eight of the ATP 500 event in London. Raonic was playing his first tournament since Madrid because of a foot injury that required minor surgery. Raonic will now make his final preparations for Wimbledon where he is defending his semifinalist points from last year. Meanwhile, Canada has three semifinalists this week. Fourteen-year-old Félix Auger-Aliassime has reached the semifinals of the ITF Grade 1 junior event in Berlin, Germany. Steven Diez, who is playing his first tournament in nine months because of injury, is into the final four at the Martos Futures in Spain, and Carol Zhao is a semifinalist at the $25,000 Sumter Challenger in South Carolina.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
