The comedian invites fans to enjoy world class tennis from August 4-13!

Montreal, May 9, 2017 — From August 4-13, the best male tennis players in the world will face-off on the courts of STADE IGA at the Rogers Cup presented by National Bank. The 2017 edition of the tournament will have a noteworthy spokesperson: comedian Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse.

Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse, actress, and former competitive tennis player

A prominent personality across Quebec’s cultural scene, Labrosse is known for her enduring roles on the popular television series Yamaska and Les Pays d’en haut. She has also showcased her acting skills in a variety of local and international films, including Starbuck, Piché: entre ciel et terre, Eastern Promises, Aurore, Human Trafficking, and Bon cop, bad cop. She has a certain popularity among the younger demographic, notably with her performances in Le Chalet and L’Appart du 5e, for which she won an award at the Gala Artis in 2016. Working on the third season of Les Pays d’en haut in the coming months, Labrosse is thrilled to join the Rogers Cup team this summer.

“It is with great pleasure that I am associating myself with the Rogers Cup this year. Tennis and the Rogers Cup have been a part of my life since my childhood, and it is a great honour for me to be the spokesperson of the tournament,” stated Labrosse.

Prior to dedicating her life to the entertainment industry, Labrosse was a competitive tennis player. She competed at the provincial level and even made it to the Canadian Championships, where she finished in the Top 10. At the age of sixteen, a knee injury promptly ended her tennis career. Although she decided to pursue comedy professionally, her love of tennis remains. The Rogers Cup team led by Tournament Director Eugène Lapierre, is proud to have such a notable local personality and tennis enthusiast among their ranks for this year’s tournament.

“We know that Sarah-Jeanne has a history with tennis, both as a player and as a spectator. Although she now has a successful career as a comedian and actress, she still plays occasionally and her interest in the sport is at a high,” stated Lapierre. “She was therefore a natural choice for this year’s Rogers Cup spokesperson. We are very happy that she has agreed to associate herself to our tournament.”

This summer, Montreal will welcome the best male tennis players in the world for this ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event. The tournament will feature a variety of activities for all ages, starting with the free Family Weekend from August 4-6. Fans will have the chance to watch qualifying matches as well as attend the practice sessions of some of the top players in the world, such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Canada’s own Milos Raonic.

Tickets are available online at or by phone at 1-855-TENNIS-0 (1-855-836-6470), extension 1.
